Early 19th-Century French Provincial Solid Oak Armoire

Early 19th-century French Provincial armoire handcrafted from solid oak using traditional pegged mortise-and-tenon construction. The substantial two-door case features a broad molded cornice, shaped raised-panel doors, original wide plank backboards, long decorative hinges, and restrained provincial detailing. Its surviving construction provides an excellent example of traditional French cabinetmaking.

CONDITION: Antique condition with pronounced wear consistent with age and use, including surface variation, natural wood movement, and visible gaps between the original backboards caused by age-related shrinkage.
